Faculty Position: Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the area of Environmental Engineering (Position #14196) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2012.

The successful candidate: 1) must hold an undergraduate degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. degree in an area related to environmental engineering; 2) must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba; 3) will be expected to teach in environmental engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels; 4) will be expected to establish and sustain an externally funded research program; and 5) must possess excellent communication and leadership skills. We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrated experimental research in environmental processes related to municipal and industrial waste water.
Expertise in solid and hazardous waste treatment would be an asset.

The Department of Civil Engineering ( www.umanitoba.ca/civil ) has eighteen faculty members, twelve support staff, approximately two hundred and seventy undergraduate students, and one hundred graduate students. The successful candidate will have access to a state of the art environmental process research and teaching laboratory operated by the Department of Civil Engineering. The Environmental Engineering group has established strong and long-term professional linkages to industry and government partners.
