Additional documents required by the programmes/courses

Many programmes or courses require you to write a statement of purpose (also called “letter of intent” or “motivation letter”) to explain why you have applied to that programme, why you believe it will benefit you in your future career and any other points you believe are important for the programme to know. This statement is reviewed as part of the programme’s selection process. The statement is an opportunity for you to convince the selection board that you are a good student for the programme.

Please note that some programmes require you to answer specific questions, or to follow a specific template, or to comment on certain topics within your statement of purpose. Check the programme specific web pages under “How to apply” to see what they ask for.

You may also be asked to submit recommendation letters, a CV, a writing sample or for design programmes, a portfolio. Make sure to read the instructions carefully and submit all the required documents. Do not submit other documents than those asked for.

Application fee and tuition fees

Non-EU/EEA citizens are generally required to pay an application fee as well as a tuition fee when applying to a study programme in Sweden. Read here to find out if you are required to pay.

If you are required to pay an application fee, you must do so before the deadline 1 February 2012. Your application will be processed if you do not pay the application fee by the deadline.

If you are an EU/EEA citizen you need to prove that you are exempt from paying the fees by submitting a copy of your passport. The certified passport copy must reach University Admissions in Sweden before the deadline 1 February or your application will be considered late.

If you are required to pay tuition fees, you will need to pay the first instalment of the fee after you have been offered a place on a programme/course at Lund University and accepted the offer.
