Thirty-three artists including Susan Collins, Simon Faithful and Martin John Callanan from UCL‘s Slade School will send live broadcasts from fields direct to users’ desktops as part of a live multimedia art project.
The project, entitled ’Field Broadcast’ and co-curated by UCL Slade School alumnus Rebecca Birch, is part of the WAC:PRESENTS exhibition currently on show at Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge. All the artists? works, whether video, animation, performance, sculpture or live data will be created in fields from 33 locations across the country with no editing or post-production.
Field Broadcast will be live 24 hours a day until Sunday May 16 allowing each broadcast to be viewed by a dispersed international audience at office desks, in cafes, on trains and at kitchen tables.
The UCL Slade School of Fine Art is concerned with contemporary art and the practice, history and theories that inform it. It approaches the study and practice of art in an enquiring, investigative, experimental and research-minded way. Slade facilities and infrastructure for research support the discourse around painting, sculpture and fine art media.
