Lund University Scholarship Ceremony

International students who were awarded scholarships to study at Lund University were tonight recognised at a special Lund University Scholarship Ceremony.

Around 80 scholarships were made available for outstanding academic students who will commence their studies in the autumn 2011 semester. This includes 42 Lund University Global Scholarships that were awarded on the basis of academic merit and which contribute to the cost of tuition fees. Two Ingvar Kamprad Scholarships were also awarded to students in the Master’s of Industrial Design programme - this prestigious scholarship covers the full cost of the programme’s tuition fees as well as living costs. In addition 34 Lund University students were awarded scholarships from the Swedish Institute with scholarships covering tuition fees and living costs.
The scholarship recipients represent more than 20 countries ranging from China, the USA, Ukraine, Turkey, Ethiopia, Zambia and Mexico, among others.

At the ceremony, Per Eriksson, the Vice-Chancellor of Lund University, officially congratulated the scholarship recipients who have now arrived in Lund ahead of the start of the semester. Students who were awarded the Lund University Global Scholarship were also presented with their scholarship certificates.

This is the first year that the Lund University Global Scholarship has been made available. The scholarship programme targets top academic students from outside the EU/EEA and is funded from both government and private funders including:
  • Crafoordska Stiftelsen
