Media in mind: Degree show explores life from all points of view

The mysteries of the mind, the plight of migrant workers and the beautiful side of football are some of the inspirations behind this year’s media degree show by final-year students at the University of Sussex.

Envision 2012 , which is free and open to all, runs for one week on the University campus from 24 May 2012 and features the final project work of graduating Media Practice and Theory students in the School of Media Film and Music (MFM).

Paul Vincent, Senior Media Production Tutor in MFM, says: “This show will again exhibit our students’ progressive and acute interrogation of the media. Their work, excellent in itself, builds significant connections between practice and theory. Our finalists should be proud exhibiting work of this calibre to visiting industry professionals at the private view on the 23 May and throughout the duration of the show.”

Projects include film dramas and documentaries, digital media animation, radio plays and documentaries and photography, including:

Aeron : Film drama inspired by a true story of childhood imagination, differing cultures and prejudice by Orban Wallace, Zamarin Wahdat and Michael van Batenburg;

Seeing Is Easy : Digital animation that explores the world of a young man with a neurological disorder known as Visual Agnosia – ‘the difficulty in recognising common objects from vision.’ By Taylor Richardson and William Cole;
